Reiki

The Reiki method of energy healing originated in Japan in the 1920's by Dr. Mikao Usui. Many other forms of Reiki have been modified from his method, but "pure" Reiki practitioners are taught by instructors who can be traced back to the learning lineage of his first students.

The goal of a Level III Usui Reiki Master in providing healing to others is to enhance the client's energy balance and ability to heal themselves. A Reiki Practitioner channels the Earth's healing energy and has learned how to draw it into themselves, and then transfer it to their client. The Reiki Master does not heal the client- they assist the client to heal themselves by way of receiving Reiki healing energy.
